A Casa Museu Eug\u00e9nio Tavares (The Eug\u00e9nio Tavares House Museum) and Morna Studies Center is a museum of personality, focused on themes related to the figure of Eug\u00e9nio Tavares, his personal, professional and intellectual training, his relationship with Brava Island and his contribution to the enrichment intellectual and cultural development of Cabo Verde. Likewise, the space is dedicated to studies on the theme of morna as a Cabo Verdean musical genre and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collection of the Casa Museu Eug\u00e9nio Tavares has a historical, ethnographic and anthropological theme, from the 19th and 20th centuries, and the exhibition presented is of long duration, the result of research work that sought to bring to public knowledge the striking aspects of life and work. by Eug\u00e9nio Tavares, with the island of Brava as the stage, as well as the other contributions he made to the affirmation of Cabo Verdean culture, namely in the promotion of Creole as a mother tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\tSaber Mais\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n

A museum of this dimension, whose collection and narrative expositions are focused on portraying the environment he lived in, its influence on intellectual production and on a person's way of being and being, the main message is the importance of safeguarding the historical memory of Eug\u00e9nio Tavares and the socio anthropological aspects of the island of Brava, having in mind its transmission to new generations and its use for leisure and development of the territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
